Californ.i.a

After 5 days of driving across the country we finally made it to the other coast on Day #6. I missed taking a picture of the "Welcome to California" sign because Sarah and I were too busy talking on our walkie-talkies about how we need to be careful what we talk about now that we are in hearing distance to ...let's say... movie sets. Anywho, we stopped at Peggy Sue's 50's diner. It came complete with a "diner"saur park out back. Super cool. It was also home to the biggest fish I have ever seen and turtles. Turtles everywhere. Did I mention it rained? Only for a couple minutes.

Vegas

We stayed at the Stratosphere hotel. It's the pointy one at the end. I don't understand why so many people brought children to Vegas. Not like teenagers, like legit babies...infants in strollers. That was odd to me. Vegas made me feel claustrophobic. Too smokey and hot for me. Unfortunately it seems I've brought the hot 90 degrees Maryland weather to southern California. Here are some Vegas shots.

aaannnndddd we're back!

OK. finally got the Internet. So let's post the last few pictures of this trip. Our second to last day was from Richfield, Utah to Las Vegas, Nevada! Vegas is quite literally in the middle of NO WHERE! And it was hot. Like, really, really hot. I don't do really really hot. One day we'll go back and do Vegas proper, but we were just too excited to get to California. My last few travel pics are of Arizona and Nevada... before we crossed into California.

Can you find me???

I told you we stopped a lot today. Which was actually quite awesome. It was nice getting out of the car and really fun to see so much. This was another "scenic view" spot in Utah. So pretty. I climbed a little mountain. Flip Flops were not such a great idea for mountain climbing, next time I'll be better prepared. :)

Rest stop photos. Utah Edition

So...can you tell I've spent too much time in my car alone...?

I tried to take pictures showing you what the reflections in my mirrors looked like. With the views they have here in Colorado and Utah, every direction you turn is breathtaking.

More Utah Pictures.

Rest stop photos. Colorado Edition

We stopped at this rest stop in Colorado. It was in Glenwood Canyons. It was amazing. Right along a river, surrounded by mountains.

Day 4

Today was Colorado and Utah. I don't even have words to describe how beautiful these places are. I took A LOT of pictures. Today was supposed to be a 6 hour day that turned into a 9 hour day because we stopped so much for pictures and such. I think we should all move to Colorado and live in a giant commune. It was around 60 degrees and amazing. It got hotter again in Utah. Enjoy the pics. More to come later.

These people really love Jesus.

These are two different crosses...

rest stop photo

we were really bored in Kansas....

Day 3

Today was Kansas and Colorado. And that's it. Kansas was beautiful. I didn't have very high hopes and everyone said it would be boring and flat, but it was quite pretty. We loved the wind things, they were all over the place and looked amazing. It was really rainy and we hit a few storms, so I don't have too many pictures. Tomorrow we leave Denver and head to Utah. We haven't been able to see any mountains yet because of all the clouds, but from what we hear tomorrow is going to be beautiful. Most of our fun pictures were taken at a rest stop in Kansas. We were the people taking pictures of ourselves and each other on our iphones. Kansas loved us. Colorado has been...crowded. Lots of traffic in Denver, but I guess I should get use to that. I can't wait for the mountains and views tomorrow.
Oh, I wore my "Colorado" shirt today. Got that in L.A...thought this seemed like a good time to wear it. And I tried to get a picture that showed my nice packed car...
